Stop Black AIDS
The incidence of HIV/AIDS has reached alarming rates among African Americans, and young blacks are being hit hardest. So, this summer, TheLoop21.com has partnered with the Magic Johnson Foundation and some of your favorite blogs and Web sites to call attention to the epidemic.
All summer, and particularly during our Action Weeks of June 21-27 and July 19-25, you'll find stories here that you won't find anywhere else, about the racial politics of AIDS, the truth behind the myths of HIV and AIDS and why Hollywood won't touch the subject, and even a timeline of how HIV spread in our community. But we can't reach everyone, and we need your help spreading the word.
Here's what you can do right now:
- Add the logo to the right to your blog, Facebook or MySpace page (Here's how: right click, or control-click on a Mac, and "save image as" to your computer)
- Start an online discussion about AIDS on your blog, Facebook or MySpace page
- Join in the first national online discussion going on now
- Sign our petition and encourage others to do the same
