Do you think racism is a major problem on college campuses or is it just something that garnered a lot of media attention? Have you faced discrimination in a college setting? If so, how did you deal with it? Any suggestions for coping?

In a great number of schools African American studies doesn't offer a degree. You can get a certificate for participating but after fourty plus yrs at most major colleges and universities in some places longer (Negroe Studies). it is still not quite relevant enough to the American experience for some schools in the academy to fully embrace it and offer diplomas
I am the only black female who has been the academic head of my department. I have been named in law suits twice. In both cases I am accused of discriminating against white women. In both cases the charge is false. I have not been able to find a single person who is a member of the bar to assist me in filing a counter suit. This has had a chilling effect on my career. I hope that this is not common for persons in my position.
