According to Black Voices a former lawyer for the Justice Department claims that the rights of white voters are often ignored and only minorities are protected by our nation’s civil rights laws. Apparently charges of voter discrimination against two Black Party members were dropped because civil rights laws are applied unequally to whites.
It was allegedly reported that two New Black Panther Party members stood outside a polling place on Election Day in 2008 and hurled racial epitaphs, such as "white devil," to white voters in a primarily black neighborhood. Former Justice Department Attorney J. Christian Adams said the case proves an unwillingness to apply the laws equally.
To me this story sounds a little ridiculous, but each situation must be judged case-by-case as it deems necessary. I wasn’t their to see what happened that day, but I also don’t hear a lot of stories where whites are highly discriminated against. But that’s just me.
