According to NPR, there are still some neighborhoods in North Carolina that African Americans can not own houses in. Myers Park, a historic neighborhood in Charlotte, NC has house that have discriminatory language written into the original home deeds. These restrictions are no longer enforceable, but the words are still painful for potential buyers in this historic neighborhood.
