An obese four-month old baby forced a Colorado insurance company to change its policy. Rocky Mountain Health Plans, a non-profit insurance provider said it will no longer view obesity a pre-existing condition for overweight infants.
The change comes after the insurer turned down Alex Lange, a Grand Junction four-month-old who weighs about 17 pounds.
Stephen Erkenbrack, Rocky Mountain's president, says the case caused the company to change its policy and should be viewed as evidence of the need for national health care reform.(KDVR.com)
