An oxymoron is a contradiction in terms, not a diss on one's brain power. Or is it?
The Republican party is comprised of millions of individuals throughout the country. Each of whom seem determined to express themselves at all costs, even if it means diluting the party to the point that it has no cohesive identity and little or no chance of winning major elections. Can we change that mindset?
Yes, we can. By forming coalitions in the place of entities. Teams instead of off-shoot fiefdoms and common purpose rather than divisive bickering. And you all know what I'm talking about here.
Our opposition knows all too well the value of coalitions, which they very effectively use to win elections, big and small. Their coalitions work together by exploiting the once-great mass media some say. But is the once-great mass media a willing accomplice, or simply responding to messages that come to them from all quarters of our opposition? Messages that come in such volume that they have the effect of being perceived as truth by those receiving them?
Meanwhile, Republicans are publically fighting among themselves for control of the party and the once-great mass media reports it. If we have a problem with that, it's easy to solve. Get behind closed doors, get our act together, then look to the millions of Republicans nationwide who have the brainpower (remember oxymorons?) to provide answers to the perplexing questions of "re-branding" our party. If we can accomplish that before the end of summer 2009, then we can begin to form the coalitions necessay to start winning elections next year, and in doing so, get on with creating a better life for all Americans.
There might even be a name for our new coalition: The Republican Party. If You Can Dream It, You Can Live It. The Republican Party. You Can Live It.
