House of Representative Puts Off Voting Due To Weather

According to The Wall Street Journal, voting on an incoming U.S. Circuit Court appeals judge have been postponed due to inclement weather, said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer.

The votes were originally scheduled for Monday, but were reschedule for Tuesday and have seen been postponed a second time after the Washington D.C. region received two feet of snow over the weekend.

300 UPS Pilots To Soon Take Furloughs

According to The Wall Street Journal, UPS is planning to cut $244 million of its expenditures by issuing furloughs to 300 of its airline pilots by 2015.

United Parcel Service Inc. will furlough about 11 percent of its total pilots after its initial agreement for voluntary cost cutting failed to meet the projected goal.

ACLU Accuses Instructor Of Teaching Religion In Classroom

According to The New York Times, the ACLU is accusing a California community college instructor of incorporating his religious views on abortion and homosexuality in classroom lectures.

The American Civil Liberties Union is concerned that Fresno City College instructor Bradley Lopez may be passing off his opinion as fact during his science course lectures, causing students to complain about his tendencies to quote biblical scriptures in support of his ideas.

Anthem Blue Cross Asked To Justify Rate Increase

According to The Los Angeles Times, Anthem Blue Cross is being asked to justify its move to increase individual policy holder fees in California by up to 39 percent.

The changes are to go into effect on March 1st and should reach about 800,000 policy holders. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius sent a letter to the company highlighting her malcontent with the insurer.

Toyota Lawyers Expect Costs To Exceed $2 Billion
