cheque

New Delhi:

The Central government is planning for another sensational step towards encouraging digital transactions and a less cash society. The government is wishing to ban the chequebook. Somehow transaction through cheques increased compared to the previous after the demonetisation. 91 percent of the cash still in the rotation after the demonetisation.

In the same way in our country, 95 percent transactions take place through cash and cheques. After the demonetisation, most of the people not showing an interest towards digital transactions. Keeping this in the mind Central government is planning for banning chequebook. The Central government has a target to increase the digital transactions from 1 Billion to 25 Billion (2,500 crores).

Khandelwal said at the launch of ‘Digital Rath’, a joint initiative of the CAIT and Mastercard, the government needs to encourage the use of debit and credit cards. The Central government spends Rs 25,000 crore to print the currency notes. The government spends another Rs 6,000 crore on their security and logistics.

If we encourage the digital transactions it would help to reduce the money we spend on printing notes. But financial experts and bank depositors are not ready to accept this news. They have expressed unwillingness to this matter. Already bank charges 1 percent on payments through debit card and 2 percent through credit cards. The government should incentivise this process by providing subsidy directly to the banks so these charges can be abandoned.

As per the Reserve Bank of India data, the digital transactions from November 2016 to September 2017 rose around 31 percent. From every thousand members, 180 to 190 people only using cards for payments. If it continues we can not reach the target. To attract the rest of 800 members towards the digital transaction we need to ban the cheques. Still the small and big business vendors are doing transactions through cheques. The Central government is thinking banning cheque is the only way to turn them towards digital transactions.

Urine Banks

New Delhi:

Urine Banks it might be a weird news to hear. Purely human urine banks will begin to start throughout the country. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has an idea of setting up urine banks in every tehsil/taluka place across the country.

By setting up these urine banks we can reduce the importing of Urea said Nitin Gadkari. Because we can prepare the Urea on a huge scale by processing the urine because of the presence of Nitrogen in the urine.

Of course, the idea is in the starting stage but we are trying to make it a reality by working with some Swedish scientists. Human urine contains a lot of Nitrogen. But this is been wasted. My aim is to convert this waste into a money, said the Minister.

Nitin Gadkari

Gadkari said this project help the farmers because the produced urea from the urine can be used as a fertilizer for the plant. Gadkari said We already have organic substitutes for phosphorous and potassium. So if we add Nitrogen to this it would be more useful to the plants. We are not certain about the economics and feasibility of this project said Gadkari. He said I fell trying this idea would not create any harm.

Litre urine Rs 1:

Farmers will have to bring the plastic bottles which should contain the 10 litres of urine in it to taluka centres. The plastic can will be provided by the government, he said. The would get Rs 1 per litre urine. The urine should not be diluted with the water.

We can make fertilizer from the urine after the distillation of urine. Because the distillation makes the urine pure. So that it can be used as a soluble organic fertiliser. Already this process has started at a laboratory in his own village Dhapewada near Nagpur, Gadkari said.

Rosogolla

That is a sweet battle. A battle for a sweet. After a long battle between two states West Bengal and Odisha over patent rights on a sweet. The special sweet which is the reason for this long sweet battle is Rosogolla. Finally, the battle reached a conclusion. West Bengal got the victory in this battle. West Bengal got the  Geographical Identification for Rosogolla.

The Geographical Identification authorities have announced on Tuesday ( November 15) that the West Bengal is the origin of Rosogolla. Since 2015 Odisha and West Bengal have been fighting to get the GI registration of Rosogolla. The chief minister Mamata Banerjee has celebrated this sweet news with a tweet. “Sweet news for us all.

Mamata’s tweet:

We are very happy and proud that Bengal has been granted GI status for rasgulla,” she tweeted on the twitter. The Geographical Identification gives a sign for the quality and reputed products and it identifies such products and recognises the origin of those products. Those who are fighting for getting a patent for certain product should prove the presence of traces or roots of the product in the respective place or area.

Assistant Registrar of Trade Marks and GI, Chinnaraja G Naidu said, this juicy sweet is originated in the West Bengal, not in Odisha. After the proper study on this, Bengal got the Geographical Identification (GI) patent on rasagulla.

Rosogolla 1

In fact, West Bengal government provided an evidence that this sweet actually invented by a renowned sweet-maker Nabin Chandra Das in 1868. State food processing Minister Abdur Rezzak Mollah said we are inviting the announcement made by the GI officials. It is not a battle on the sweet but it the victory in this battle is a pride of Bengalis.

The owner of Ganguram One of the most popular sweet chains in Kolkata especially famous for the sweet rasagulla Said, I would like to thank the GI authorities for doing justice for us.
