India Vs Newzealand T20 match-Ind beats NZ by 53 runs with an all-around performance from both the batsmen and bowlers. A good start to the 3 match T20 series, now India leads the series 1-0.Contrastingly, India registered their 1st T20 victory against India, giving Ashish Nehra a great farewell. The 1st T20 between India and Newzealand at Feroz Shah Kotla .kane Williamson won the toss and he elected to bowl first to make Indian batsman struggle with their bowling attack.This match was indeed special to Indian cricket team and fans as senior team player Ashish Nehra playing his last international cricket match.The Indian strong batting line up once again proved solid as India went on posting a mammoth total of 202 runs for the fall of 3 wickets.
The Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave solid start which made a foundation to post high total on the scoreboard. In fact, they made record opening partnership inT20’s going past previous partnership of 136 stitched by Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag vs England in Durban.Both the openers slammed 80’s and a little cameo by Kohli helped the hosts to post 202 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 3 wickets

The Indian bowlers complemented the Indian batsman with their good bowling attack .The Indian bowlers defended the total quite smoothly and difficult to score for the visitors. The Kiwi batsmen couldn’t resist the attack in any situation of the game, they didn’t seem like giving a tough competition to the hosts.The early fall of the wickets made the target even more hard for the black caps. They ended up with 149 /8 in 20 overs. Axar Patel was the pick of the bowlers as he ended up with 2/20 in his 4 overs quota.Along with him Axar, Yuzvendra Chahal also picked 2 wickets each. The final over was bowled by Ashish Nehra and made a farewell in front of his fans.Shikhar Dawan was given the man of the match. The next T20 match will be played at Rajkot on 4th November.

India Beats Australia in the 1st T20 ODI and leads series 1-0

India beats Australia in the 1st T20 ODI by nine wickets which took place at Ranchi and takes 1-0  lead in the 3 match T20 series.

Match Highlights :

Indian Team led by Virat Kohli beat Australia in the 1st T20 by nine wickets by DLS  at Ranchi and takes a healthy lead 1-0 in a 3 match T20 series. Indian skipper elected to choose ball first after winning the toss. Well pertaining to the climatic conditions the decision to opt ball went handily. Indian bowlers didn’t failed the skipper’s trust and bowled according to the plan.Indian bowlers restricted the opposition to a meager total of 118 /4 in 18.4 overs where the game was halted due to rain. Aron finch was the top scorer for the Aussies led by David Warner. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for the Indian team as he ended up with the figures 2/16.The rain became a blocker for the match and the play was halted until the subsides.when rain was subsided completely and the covers were off after 2 hours Duckworth – Lewis Method came into the picture.

After the DL method, Indians target was revised to 48 runs in 6 overs.Rohit and Dhawan, as usual, opened the innings where they need to score 8 runs per over. The first ball went to four and the good start didn’t seem long enough as Nathan Coulter-Nile knocks off Rohit middle.The fall of Rohit sharma bought skipper Kohli into the ground.Kohli along with Dhawan lead the chase and chased the target with 3 balls to spare . Virat Kohli became the top scorer for the Indian Team with a score of 22 runs .with this victory in the 1st ODI, the hosts lead the series 1-0.The visitors seem struggling, adding to it the absence of the skipper Steve Smith makes even more difficult. The second T20I will be played in Guwahati on October 10.


Prashant maiden triple century

India young cricketer Prashant Chopra is setting up new records in the Ranji Trophy match between Himachal Pradesh vs Punjab which was started on 6th October

A Maiden Triple century knock on birthday :

Prashant Chopra clearly giving strong indications to the selectors with his performance in the Ranji matches.With the recent Ranji match going between Himachal Pradesh VS Punjab, Prashant made a visible impact with his play in the opening day of the match itself i.e on 6th October, Himachal Pradesh was chosen to bat.Prashant Chopra who came as an Opener defended the opposition Punjab bowling attack quite well and stood not out on the opening day of the match with 271 * runs as not out.This score of 271 runs not out  on the first day of a Ranji by Prashant set a new record for the highest number of runs scored on day in a Ranji match

Prashant carried forwarded the same momentum on day 2 which he had left on Day 2. He faced the bowling attack with more confidence.The pace of his batting took him to accomplish a maiden triple century.By facing 318 balls, he completed his maiden triple century with the help of 40 boundaries and a sixer.

This day October 7th  where he made his maiden triple century turns out to be his 25th birthday as well. This sheer coincidence made him feel happier and made his maiden triple century a memorable one to cherish in the long run.Prashant ended his innings when he got bowled to Punjab Bowler Pragat Singh.In total Prashant made an astonishing knock of 338 runs by facing 363 balls that included 44 boundaries and 2 sixes.With his mesmerizing maiden triple century, Himachal Pradesh managed to keep a mammoth score of 600 runs on the board.This makes Himachal Pradesh to have a strong grip on the game in the days to come.


Pusarala Venkata Sindhu aka PV Sindhu made a buzz in the headlines by beating arch-rival Nozomi Okuhara in a thrilling encounter with scores 22-20, 11-21, 21-18.Sindhu won the Korean Open Superseries thereby becoming the First Indian Badminton player to clinch Korean Open super series title.

This Sunday was ended on high note. PV Sindhu emerging shining star in Indian  Badminton becomes the first ever Indian Badminton player to win the Korean Open super series by beating Nozomi Okuhara.This win over N.Okuhara settles her equation when she lost in world championship finals in Glasgow to the same opponent.

The game went thrilling almost a replica of world championship finale between the two but this time PV Sindhu had the last laugh.The first set went neck to neck and Sindhu resisted her smashes and displayed her own play and took the first set with 21-18.Though Okuhara tried to withstand by saving one match point. The second set was the real test as Okuhara came real tight in the game with all guns blazing.Apparently, Sindhu felt short in replying with some unforced errors handed the set to Okuhara to 11- 21.

The 3rd set was gripping as both tightened their gears with all they could.Till 17 points, it was a neck to neck tussle but this time Sindhu held her nerve real tight.She didn’t give any chance to Okuhara and end on winning the final set 21- 18.Thereby becoming the first ever Indian Badminton player to clinch the Korean Open super series title.

Before Sindhu, Ajay Jayaram was the only player to get into the finals of Korean super series but couldn’t win the trophy.This was her third super series title in her career and second this year.With this victory, PV Sindhu scaled up to the world no 2 in the rankings.PV Sindhu dedicated this victory to our PM Narendra Modi.In return, she got the appreciation from him.

Ind vs SL; India clean swept Srilankan squad at their home leg.  (3-0).

India had an unforgettable test series in its history breaking and establishing many records. India is the second team after Australia, to clean sweep Srilanka in Srilanka. In Ind vs SL  test series, right from the first innings of the first test to the second innings of the third test, India exhibited outstanding cricketing skills as a team. India didn’t win three tests playing away from home since 1968. Since the past one year, India scored 600+ runs five times, while all the other teams combined have only scored once( Aus vs Pak, Aus scored 624/8d). By the series of Ind vs Sl, Virat Kohli packed up 8th consecutive Test series win under his Captaincy.From Ind vs Sl test series, Shikar Dhawan got ‘Player of the series’ title for scoring 358 runs in 6 innings. On the other hand, Ashwin stood as the top wicket taker of the series with 17 wickets.

India started off so well and scored 600 runs in the first innings by Shikar Dhawan’s extraordinary inning of 190 and Cheteshwar Pujara’s 153 at Galle, Srilanka. Srilanka stumbled and handled India a 304 run victory which was India’s biggest away win and Sri Lanka’s biggest defeat in terms of runs in Tests. Ashwin broke a 36-year record of most wickets after 50 tests as this was his 50th test match in his career. Shikar Dhawan was given the ‘Man of the match’ award in the first test.

Again India started off with 622 run innings with Pujara’s 133 and Rahane’s 132. Srilanka fell for 183 and started to follow on. However, India managed to restrict Srilanka and packed maiden Innings win away from home.  India won by an innings and 53 runs. Ravindra Jadeja was awarded as ‘man of the match’ for his five wicket haul in second innings.

Hardik Pandya was the one to speak when its comes to the third test between Ind vs Sl. He mesmerized the Indian fans by scoring his maiden Test century and  26 runs in Pushpakumara’s over. Hardik Pandya has set a record for most runs scored by an India player in an over in Tests (26). His all round performance presented him the ‘man of the match’ award in the third test. During this test series, India got inclined in their victory margin. India swept away Srilanka with an Innings and 171 run victory.

Srilanka’s Struggle:

Srilanka started this series facing many odd situations. Apart from their poor form vs  Zimbabwe and Incoherent decisions from  Srilankan Cricket board, their Newly appointed test captain Dinesh Chandimal suffered from pneumonia before the series got started. However, his comeback in the second test as the captain didn’t change the result and turned it even worse.
