UPSC CDSE Recruitment notification: 414 posts


A new recruitment notification has released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the Combined Defence Services Examination 2018. This would be a great opportunity for those who have been waiting for UPSC jobs. Through the CDS exam total, 414 vacancies would be filled.

It is held for recruiting candidates for the course conducted by Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Airforce Academy and officers training academy. As per reports, the candidates would get  Rs 56,000 as a pay scale per month during the training period. The eligible candidates can submit the application through the official website. The starting date of sending application is  8th November 2017. The last date for submitting the application is 4th December 2017.

Indian Military Academy – Dehradun: 100 posts 

Indian Naval Academy- Ezhimala: 45 posts

Airforce Academy- Hyderabad: 32 posts

officers training academy- Chennai: 225 posts

officers training academy- Chennai (SSC  Women non-technical course): 12 posts

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates should have completed any degree from any recognized institute or university those who are applying for Indian Military Academy and officers training academy.

Candidates those who are applying for Indian Naval Academy should have completed Engineering from any recognized institute or university.

Candidates those who are applying for Airforce Academy should have passed Degree. But they should have maths and physics as subjects in their Intermediate. Those who are in the last year of their Degree and Engineering are also eligible for applying UPSC vacancies.

Age limit:

Those who are applying for Indian Military Academy and Indian Naval Academy posts should not be born before 2nd January 1995 and should not later than 1st January 2000.

Candidates those who are applying for Airforce Academy post should not be born before 2nd January 1995 and should not later than 1st January 1999. 

Those who are applying for officers training academy post should not be born earlier than 2nd January 1994, and not later than 1st January 2000.

Mode of application:

Interested applicant can apply for this post through UPSC official website. General OBC candidates have to pay Rs 200 as an application fee. SC / ST and Women Candidates are exempted from paying.

Selection process:

Candidates will be selected on the base of written test and personal Interview. In the phase of Interview, candidates should ready to face the questions from the subjects of English, General Knowledge, reasoning and arithmetic. Candidates should have to complete the question paper which is composed for 300 marks within 6 hours. They have to go through the Intelligence and Personality test in Stage-2.

Those who are qualified in Stage-1 are eligible for the Stage-2. In stage- 2 they have to write 300 marks question paper. They conduct different physical tests for those who are qualified in stage-2. Candidates who come across with all these tests have to go through another test is Medical and health tests. Applicants who qualified in all these tests will be selected. Then they will be trained in the respective division.

Starting date for submission of application: November 8, 2017.

Last date for submission of application: December 4, 2017.

Date of primary Examination: February 4, 2018.
