Hero MotoCorp’s new bike Hero Xtreme 160R is going to be launched soon. Prior to the launch, the company has started registration for its test riding. Hero Motocorp introduced this bike in February. It was to be launched in March-April, but its launch was postponed due to the lockdown caused by the corona virus outbreak. The Xtreme 160R is a naked bike. It will compete in the market with bikes like TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj Pulsar NS160. The styling of the Hero Xtreme 160R is sporty and quite aggressive. The bike will be launched in two variants, including front disc and dual disc (front and rear disc) variants. It will come in three color options (gray-sports red, gray-blue and gray-white).
This new sports naked bike from Hero will feature features such as LED headlamps, LED side turn indicators, smoked-out LED tail lamps, integrated pillion grab rails, hazard lights, full-digital instrument cluster and side-stand-down engine cut-off function. The bike will come with 17-inch alloy wheels. The Hero Xtreme 160R is a BS6-compliant 160cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine generates 15hp power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox.
The company claims that this new bike can accelerate from 0-60 kilometers per hour in 4.7 seconds. The bike weighs 138.5 kg.
Both variants of Hero Xtreme 160R have a 276 mm disc brake at the front. The dual disc variant has 220 mm disc brakes at the rear, while the single disc variant has 130 mm drum brakes at the rear. The bike is equipped with ABS (anti lock braking system). Talking about the suspension, 37mm telescopic forks are given in the front and 7-step adjustable monoshock suspension in the rear. The ground clearance of the bike is 170mm.
