Honor, one of Huawei Technologies Co’s two smartphone brands, presented its latest 5G smartphone capable of controlling users’ temperatures through infrared rays. This helps consumers during the COVID-19 outbreak to keep better track of their health.
According to Honor the Play 4 series will test temperatures from minus 20 to 100 degrees Celsius. It is a part of Honor ‘s efforts to popularize China’s 5 G smartphones.
The Honor Play 4 Pro uses the Kirin 990 chip, giving it performance at flagship level and 5 G connectivity. Only two cameras are on the back of the Pro but they’re quite special. The main lens contains a Sony sensor that Honor says is capable of capturing 40 percent more light than conventional sensors. The second camera has functions for optical image stabilisation and takes 8 megapixel images.
The move came at a time when Huawei, the world’s second-largest smartphone maker, said during the first quarter of this year it accounted for 55.4 per cent of China’s 5 G market.Honor, created in 2013 to complement the Huawei brand, focuses primarily on its millennial audience and people looking for young lifestyles in the fashion. It is now China’s most popular smartphone brand on e-commerce platforms, and has expanded its presence on the smart home market.
