MG Hector Plus will be launched in July. It is a 6/7-seater version of the 5-seat Hector SUV. In the market, it will compete with SUVs like Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Gravitas. MG Motor India started production of Hector Plus from Tuesday (16 June) . It is being built at the company’s plant in Halol, Gujarat. Hector Plus was introduced at the Auto Expo held in February this year. It will have seats in three lines, with two captain seats in the second line. It will get some cosmetic changes to give it a different look from the 5-seater Hector. These include a new headlamp, new grille, revised bumpers, new skid plates and a redesigned rear tailgate.
Hector Plus is 40mm longer than Hector, which will give more cabin space. This new SUV from MG will get features like 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, infinity sound system, connected car technology, automatic climate control, ambient lighting and cruise control with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Swift incinerated for 15 years, became the choice of millions.
Hector Plus will have engines with a 5-seater Hector SUV. These include a 2.0-liter diesel engine with 170bhp power, a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine with 143bhp power and a mild-hybrid 1.5-liter petrol engine. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard with all three engines. A 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with petrol engine will also be offered.
