According to data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI), Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani has become the sixth richest man in the world since surpassing Alphabet Co-founder Larry Page. Real-time net worth of Ambani on Monday increased by $217 billion to $72.4 billion. Ambani, who was India and Asia’s richest man, is now close to joining the world’s top five billionaires elite group.

Ambani’s net worth now stands at $72.4 billion ( Rs 5.44 lakh crore), following an rise of $2.17 billion, according to the new Bloomberg Billionaires List. In terms of net worth, Ambani stands behind American businessman Steve Ballmer who is listed fifth on the $74.6 billion net worth list. Reliance ‘s success can be due to the reason behind Ambani ‘s fast climb on the BBI.

RIL, which has now transformed from an energy supplier into a consumer business, has seen its valuation rise dramatically to top Rs 12 lakh crore. It must be noted that thanks to a sharp rise in Reliance ‘s stock, Ambani has added nearly $7.9 billion to his fortune in the past 22 days. The manager of Reliance has slowly grown ranks on the BBI. He overtook Warren Buffet last week to become the world’s eighth-richest man.
