On Monday Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Davos in Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Summit. In the summit, he addressed the top chief executive officers (CEOs) and told them that India means business. Modi told India presents the rousing opportunity for the global businesses.
Prime Minister Modi was accompanied by top government officials, including Vijay Gokhale, Jai Shankar and Ramesh Abhishek. Before the dinner meet speaking at the roundtable PM Modi explained India’s growth story.
Under the tagline of “India Means Business”, the roundtable was attended by 40 CEOs from across the world and 20 CEOs from India. Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Reliance’s Mukesh Ambani, Airbus CEO Dirk Hoke, were also attended this meet and it lasts for nearly two hours.
After the meeting, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted that PM narrated India’s growth story and the exciting opportunity for the global business in India at Davos.
Prime Minister met Swiss President Alain Berset in Davos and discussed ways to deepen bilateral ties. PM Modi also tweeted and wrote On reaching Davos, held talks with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Mr @alain_berset. We reviewed the scope of our bilateral cooperation and discussed ways to deepen it even further.
Saying thanks to Modi the Swiss President told that he would continue the relationship with India and he would try to strengthen the relationship.
The spokesperson Raveesh Kumar also tweeted about Prime Minister addressed the roundtable meeting with CEOs of top global companies. On Monday evening Prime Minister arrived in Davos. Tuesday morning he gave his opening keynote speech at the World Economic Forum annual meeting.
Along with this, he will also interact the members of the international business community of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to attend the WEF summit in Davos in 20 years.
