Justin Bieber, a Canadian singer and song writer who is well-known for his pop and R&B albums has now led the box office scores grossing over $250 million for his purpose world tour held between March 9, 2016, to July 2, 2017. Among the box office collections during the Purpose Tour, the highest-grossing venue worldwide was Mexico City’s Foro Sol with $9.4 million from three sellouts in February 2017. In this tour, Justin Beiber performed in many parts of the world from Seattle to London. This tour is named after his album ‘Purpose’ which was announced on November 11, 2015, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show which was initially purposed up to September 2017. Later Justin Beiber called-off this tour leaving London’s concert as the last of this.
Justin Beiber’s maiden concert in India:
As a part of this tour, he landed in India on May 7, 2017, as his 11th concert. He performed in Mumbai, India on May 10.DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai hosted its biggest celebrity concert till date. Justin Bieber’s first musical concert in India has got its hype and a great shout out took place in Mumbai for this Global Pop Icon. Along with more than 50,000 attendees, Indian celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Sonali Bendre, Malaika Arora, Sridevi etc., have made their way to this concert to enjoy the ambiance.
Demerits of Indian tour:
Many of his fans got embarrassed in the country because of his dress code and lip-synching performance. He dressed like a basket ball player wearing a plain tees and basket ball trousers for his debut concert in India. Many of the comedians in India commented and added humor for his lip synching performances. Comedian Rohan Joshi jokingly called the event “Justin Bieber’s Bombay Dubsmash.”
Purpose World tour called off:
This tour showed off in almost 150 dates across 6 continents with nearly 2.7 million attendees. This list could have extended if Justin Beiber wouldn’t have called-off this tour. Although Justin didn’t reveal perfect reason for quitting this purpose tour, he wrote a letter to his fans that he wants to build his mind and soul and he wants his career to be sustainable, “”Learning and growing hasn’t always been easy but knowing I’m not alone has kept me going,” he wrote in the letter. “I want you all to know this tour has been unbelievable and has taught me so much about myself… I am reminded of how blessed I am to have a voice in this world.
