Kamal Hasan launches his party: Makkal Needhi Maiam

Tamil actor Kamal Haasan has started his political journey by launching a party. On Wednesday Kamal Haasan emotionally announced his political party name Makkal Needhi Maiam which means people justice centre. He also unveiled his party flag before announcing the party name. The flag symbolised the strength of unity.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party Tamil Nadu Incharge Somnath Bharti shared the stage with Kamal Haasan. Kamal Haasan said I am would focus more on receiving suggestions from people instead of focus on giving speeches.

“I am not your leader, I am your tool.. this gathering is full of leaders,” Kamal said before announcing the party name. Don’t look at me as a leader but look at me as your tool, Kamal asked the people.

The flag has a white background and imprinted with six hands joining together which represents the six states and a star at the centre which represents the people. Among the six hands three in red and the rest of the three in white.

I will not give Rs 6,000 for a vote because I do not have the money. If I have it also I won’t give Kamal said at the launch. He said a Tamil proverb ‘Oru Soru’ (a small example of a whole lot) at the launch.

Kamal Haasan visited the house of the former president APJ Abdul Kalam and he met the family members of Abdul Kalam. He gifted a watch to Kalam’s brother Mohammed Muthumeeran Lebbai Maraikkayar.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has congratulated the Kamal Haasan and people of Tamilnadu. Kejriwal described Makkal Needhi Maiam as the honest political alternative. He said people of Delhi rejected both BJP and Congress gave us 67 seats. People of Tamilnadu will break the record of people of Delhi.

If you want corruption vote for AIADMK and DMK but if you want schools, electricity, road and water vote for Kamal Haasan he added.
