WHO study revealed shocking! 5 lakh AIDS patients may die due to corona

Where Coronavirus is not taking the name of wreaking havoc. At the same time, a study of the World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed the shocking thing. According to the study, five lakh Aids patients can die due to corona virus. According to a report in the Telegraph , WHO and UNAIDS have modeled that about 5 lakh AIDS patients will die in the next 6 months in the sub-Saharan region of Africa. If this happens, this number will break the record of those who died of AIDS in 2008.

According to the report, in 2018, an estimated 25.7 million people in the sub-Saharan Africa were HIV infected and 64 percent were taking antiretroviral (ARV) therapy. However, many HIV clinics were closed due to Corona virus. Because of which AIDS patients are missing their medicine doses. The study has revealed that if the ARP therapy of AIDS patients is not available, then the amount of HIV virus starts increasing in their body. If any other person is infected by this afflicted person in any way, then the number of AIDS patients will also increase.

Since 2010, there has been a 43 percent decrease in the rate of HIV infection in children in Africa. The reason behind this has been attributed to antiretroviral (ARV) therapy. According to the report, if they do not receive medicine and therapy at the right time, then in the coming six months, 37 percent of patients in Mozambique will increase. In Malawi and Zimbabwe, 78-78 percent and Uganda 104 percent of children can be infected with HIV.

The WHO and UNAIDS also urged countries to ensure HIV prevention and treatment. UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Bayanima said, “The Kovid-19 pandemic should not be an excuse to divert attention from HIV.” WHO says that this study shows how deadly Kovid-19 is for people struggling with AIDS, TB and malaria on the earth. People suffering from diseases may not get corona infected, but they can get in trouble in some way or the other.
