In the United Kingdom, hundreds of Kentucky Fried Chicken KFC restaurants have been closed temporarily due to the shortage of chicken. As per the sources, roughly 500 of the fast-food chain’s in900 locations in Britain have forced to shut due to teething problems.
The chicken crossed the road, just not to our restaurants,” KFC’s the United Kingdom and Ireland outfit tweeted. On last Wednesday KFC gave the delivery responsibilities from Bidvest Logistics to DHL. The company blamed its new delivery partner for the shortage of chicken and delivery problems.
KFC said to its customers that the Colonel is working on it. We’ve brought a new delivery partner onboard, but they’ve had a couple of teething problems – getting the fresh chicken out to 900 restaurants across the country is pretty complex! the company tweeted on the twitter.
We won’t compromise on quality, so no deliveries have meant some of our restaurants are closed, and others are operating a limited menu, or shortened hours the company added. Shout out to our restaurant teams who are working flat out to get us back up and running again.
This shortage of chicken causes inconvenience to some of you and disappointed you when you wanted your fried chicken fix we’re really sorry about that,” KFC said.
KFC is owned by Taco Bell and Pizza Hut parent Yum! But DHL acknowledged that the number of deliveries in recent days have been incomplete or delayed because of operational issues.
Many fans of KFC have complained about the shutdown of restaurants on social media. Someone wrote So I went all the way to KFC to then realise its closed due to running out of chicken … @KFC I need answers this is unacceptable. It is not a police matter if your favourite eatery is not serving the menu that you desire,” the police department tweeted.
